Get started with email marketing
Set up your sender, add subscribers, design an email, and prepare your first campaign.
Email marketing lets you create reusable email designs and send them to people on your subscriber lists. A campaign brings together an email design, a subject, a sender, and one subscriber list.
Before you begin
Open your site's dashboard and select Marketing. This opens Marketing Settings.
Email marketing currently requires an Ultimate site plan and an active domain managed through the platform. It is not available for agency sites. You also need site administrator access to use the Marketing area.
If you see Email marketing requires Ultimate, select View Ultimate plans, or ask your site's billing administrator to upgrade. If you see This is not currently available for your account, select I'm Interested to register your interest. Adding an external sending domain does not replace the account availability requirement.
Prepare your first campaign
- Set up a sending domain. In Marketing Settings, select Enable Email Sending. Complete domain setup and wait for the domain to show Ready. Follow Set up a sending domain.
- Add a sender. Choose the name and email address recipients will see. The sender must use your verified sending domain. Follow Add and manage email senders.
- Add your branding. Complete Business Identity and Design Defaults, then select Save. Follow Set your email branding and design defaults.
- Create a list. Open Marketing > Lists and add subscribers who have agreed to receive your emails. You can add contacts individually, import a CSV, or capture new site form submissions. Follow Create a subscriber list.
- Create an email. Open Marketing > Emails, select New Email, and customize a template. Follow Create and edit a marketing email.
- Preview and test. Check your content, images, and links, then send a test to an inbox you can check. Follow Send a test email.
- Create your campaign. Select Create Campaign from the email editor, choose your list and sender, and review the saved email. You can send now or schedule a future send. Follow Create and send an email campaign.
Check your sending allowance
Your site has a monthly email allowance. A campaign needs enough remaining allowance for its active subscribers, and test sends also use that allowance. Billing administrators can check Marketing > Plans for the current plan, remaining emails, and reset date.
Creating or editing an email does not send it. Sending happens only after you create a campaign and confirm Send Now or Schedule Campaign.
