Set up a sending domain

A sending domain lets you send marketing emails from an address on a domain you control, such as news@example.com. Verify the domain before sending tests or campaigns.

Use a managed site domain

1. Open your site's dashboard and select Marketing to open Marketing Settings.
2. In Sending Domains, select Enable Email Sending.
3. Choose your domain in Site Domain.
4. Select Enable Email Sending in the dialog.
5. The required DNS records are added automatically, and verification starts. You can enter and save your sender details while verification is pending.
6. Wait for the domain and sender to show Ready before sending.

Setup keeps your existing website and email service in place. It does not create an email inbox.

Use a domain with an external DNS provider

You can add an external sending domain once email marketing is available for your site. You need access to that domain's DNS settings.

1. In Marketing Settings > Sending Domains, select Enable Email Sending.
2. Choose External Domain in the Site Domain dropdown.
3. Enter the domain, such as example.com, without https:// or a page path.
4. Select Enable Email Sending.
5. In Email Sending DNS Records, copy each record's Type, Name, and Value into your DNS provider's settings. Use the records generated for your domain.
6. Return to Marketing Settings and select Check Sending Status.

You can reopen the records from the domain's three-dot menu by selecting View DNS Records. Add the displayed sending records while keeping your existing website and email records in place.

Understand the status

• Pending: Setup has started, but verification is not complete. Checks run automatically.
• Ready: The domain is verified for sending.
• Needs Attention: Open View DNS Records to read the setup message. Review the records and use Retry Setup when it is available.

DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to take effect. If you check manually more than once, wait at least 30 seconds between attempts. Contact support if setup continues to fail after you have checked the records.

Once setup is underway, select Add Sender for This Domain to add an email sender.
