Add and manage email senders

Choose the name and address readers see, set a reply-to address, and choose a default sender.

A sender controls the name and email address recipients see in their inbox. You can also choose a separate reply-to address and a default sender for new campaigns.

Add a sender

  1. Open your site's dashboard and select Marketing.
  2. In Senders, select Add Sender. You can also select Add Sender for This Domain from a sending domain's three-dot menu.
  3. Enter a Sender Name, such as your business or team name.
  4. Choose a Sending Domain. If none is available, set up a sending domain first.
  5. Enter the Email Address readers should see. It must belong to the selected domain or one of its subdomains. For example, a sender on example.com can use hello@example.com.
  6. Optionally enter a Reply-To Address. Replies go to this address; if you leave it blank, replies go to the sender's email address.
  7. Turn on Default Sender if you want this sender selected automatically for new campaigns.
  8. Select Save Sender.

Use an existing email address where you can receive replies. Adding a sender does not create a mailbox or change your email service.

Check whether a sender is ready

You can save a sender while its domain is being verified. Sending becomes available when the sender shows Ready.

  • Domain Pending: Wait for domain verification, or check the domain's DNS records.
  • Domain Setup Required: Edit the sender and link it to a sending domain.
  • Needs Attention: Review the sending domain's setup message.

Use Check Sending Status in the sender's three-dot menu to request an update. Wait at least 30 seconds before checking again.

Change a sender or choose a default

Open the sender's three-dot menu and select Edit Sender. Make your changes and select Save Sender. To change the default, select Make Default on the sender you want to use.

A sender used by a scheduled or sending campaign cannot be edited. For a future scheduled campaign, cancel its schedule first. If sending has already started, wait for it to finish.

Changing your default sender selects it for new campaigns. Check the sender on any existing draft before sending it.
