Send a test email
Check your email in an inbox and understand test-send limits and allowance usage.
Send a test email to check the content in an inbox before sending to your subscriber list. You need a sender marked Ready and at least one email remaining in your site's sending allowance.
Send a test
- Open Marketing > Emails and select your email.
- Finish editing and let image uploads complete.
- Select Send Test Email in the editor's top bar. The editor saves pending content changes before opening the dialog.
- Check Recipient Email. It starts with your account's email address; you can replace it with one other address.
- Choose a verified Sender.
- Enter or check the Subject.
- Select Send Test Email in the dialog.
The subject in the inbox starts with [Test]. Check the layout, images, wording, and links. Unsubscribe links are inactive in test emails, so testing does not change a subscriber's status.
Test-send limits
Each email design allows up to three test sends, to one address at a time. The dialog shows how many remain. This limit belongs to the email design; it does not reset when you edit the email or create another campaign from it.
Test sends also count toward your site's monthly sending allowance.
- If the provider explicitly rejects the test, the error message confirms that no test send was used.
- If delivery cannot be confirmed, the attempt counts toward both the test limit and the monthly allowance. It is not retried automatically.
Check the inbox and spam folder before attempting another test after an unconfirmed result.
If you cannot send a test
Check that the sender shows Ready in Marketing Settings, that test sends remain for this email, and that your site has remaining allowance. The dialog also reports blocked recipient addresses or paused sending.
If the editor reports that it could not save your latest changes, wait for image uploads, check your connection, and try opening the test dialog again.
Once the email looks right, create and send a campaign.
