Add a Link to a File

Adding a dedicated link to download a file that includes a file icon is quick and simple with the File component. To get started, click the Add Content button within the site editor and drag the File component to a page of your site. Next, click on the component to open the options panel to the side of the editor.

File

At the top of the panel is an Upload button. Click on this button and choose the file you want to upload. If you need to replace the file, click on the Upload button again and upload a new file.

Display Name

To edit the name of the file shown with the component, edit the Display Name field.

Download Name

If you want to customize the name of the file once a visitor downloads it, edit the Download Name field.

Layout

The Align option found in this option group is used to align the icon and text to the left, right, or center of the component.

Design

The options within this group control the styling of the component, and the colors of various elements in specific. All three options can be set to auto, or to custom to choose a unique color.

  • Icon Color - The color of the file icon itself.
  • Extension Color - The color of the text showing the file extension. This text is displayed on the file icon.
  • Filename Color - The color of the filename text, which is shown to the right of the icon.

Spacing

The Margin option in this group controls the spacing around the file icon and text. This can be set the same or separately for all sides, and can also be set separately for different screen sizes by clicking the desktop/mobile icon.
