Check campaign status and troubleshoot sending
Understand campaign statuses and resolve common problems with senders, lists, and sending limits.
Open Marketing > Campaigns to check a campaign. You can search by subject, filter by status, and select a campaign's subject to see its details, saved email preview, and any failure message.
Understand campaign statuses
- Draft: Saved and available to edit or review.
- Scheduled: Set to send at a future time.
- Queued: Its send time has arrived, and it is waiting to be processed.
- Sending: Delivery is in progress.
- Sent: The sending process finished without recorded send failures. This does not guarantee placement in every recipient's inbox.
- Failed: The campaign could not proceed, or one or more messages failed. Read the failure message and check the delivery summary.
- Limit Exceeded: The campaign could not fit within the sending allowance when delivery was prepared.
- Cancelled: The campaign has been marked canceled. Canceling a future schedule yourself normally returns it to Draft instead.
When delivery records are available, the campaign shows Recipients, Sent, Pending, and Failed counts. Later delivery updates, such as bounces, can mean the displayed subtotals do not add up to the recipient total. A failed campaign may still have sent some messages successfully. Avoid sending a replacement to the whole list without checking, because some people could receive it twice.
Send Now or Schedule is unavailable
Read Before You Send on the review screen. Check that:
- The selected sender shows Ready.
- The selected list has at least one active subscriber.
- Your site has enough remaining allowance for the active subscribers.
- The campaign has a subject and saved email content.
- Sending has not been paused by an administrator.
Use Check Sending Status or Manage Senders to resolve sender problems. Ask your billing administrator to check Marketing > Plans for allowance or billing issues. Contact support if sending is paused.
The sender is not ready
Open Marketing and check Sending Domains and Senders. A sender needs an address on its selected domain or a subdomain, and the sending domain must be verified.
For Domain Pending, allow time for DNS verification. For Needs Attention, open the domain's View DNS Records action and review the message. Use Retry Setup if offered. DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to take effect.
See Set up a sending domain for the full steps.
A scheduled campaign failed
Subscribers, sender readiness, account availability, and allowance are checked again at send time. Changes since scheduling can prevent sending.
Read the failure message and resolve the cause. If Return to Draft is available, select it, edit the draft if needed, and review it before sending or scheduling again. This option is only available for failures before delivery was prepared. If it is unavailable, check the existing send counts and contact support for help before sending a replacement.
The preview does not show my latest design
A campaign stores the design captured when its draft was saved. To update a draft, choose Edit Draft from View & Edit, then save and review again. For a future scheduled campaign, cancel the schedule first.
If you see a message that the draft changed in another session, select Refresh Review and check the latest saved campaign details. This refresh does not import changes from the original email design.
Analytics shows No Data Yet
The current Analytics page does not display campaign reporting. Use the individual campaign's delivery summary to check sending progress. No Data Yet on Analytics does not tell you whether a campaign was sent.
What to include when asking for help
Include the site, campaign subject, exact error message, campaign status, and approximate send time with its timezone. For a domain problem, include the domain and the status shown in Marketing Settings.
